This link is from the WV Courthouse Courthouse Facilities Improvement Authority. Please check out some of the other courthouses around WV that this organization contributed to upgrading (for one they even installed a new Fire Alarm System).
About half are simple square buildings, the other half are similar to our old courthouse - and I emphasize old as they were most likely built in the 19th century. I am assuming that the other simple square buildings are the newer ones that replaced those from 19th century era.
One last thing...did the Commission go to these folks for funding to demolish our burned down courthouse? If they had prior knowledge of this organization, why didn't they go to them earlier for upgrades like some of these others (again...the new fire alarm system)?
