I continue to read articles in the local papers that make no sense to me. Last month I went to the Paw Paw town council meeting. One of the main concerns their members expressed was the need for a cell tower to attract new businesses. I have not heard both sides as to why they have not been able to get one, but after reading today’s Messenger, I am even more baffled. According to the article, Morgan County Planner Alma Gorse stated, “the county does not have a tower ordinance”. Additionally, Planning Commission President Jack Soronen stated, “We don’t have any ability to address towers except for reasons of health and safety.” If we have no Tower ordinances, if there are no health and safety issues, and the Town wants it, why is one not being built? As I said, I do not know the full story, so if someone can enlighten me, I would surely appreciate it. Thanks, John |
